The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NASA EPSCoR) was established to promote improvement in infrastructure within South Carolina by increasing access, understanding, development, and utilization of resources within NASA's four main mission directorates: Aeronautics research, Human Exploration and Development of Space, Mission to Planet Earth, and Space Science.
Goals of NASA EPSCoR are carried out by the South Carolina Space Grant Consortium which is made up of 13 higher-education institutions. The consortium strives to provide NASA and South Carolina with a better and more scientifically focused workforce, adding to the state's economic prosperity.
The EPSCoR/IDeA State Office and the SC Space Grant Office jointly announce the 2012 NASA EPSCoR Call for Pre-Proposals in anticipation of the release of the FY 2012 NASA EPSCoR Cooperative Agreement Notice. Individual faculty from institutions of higher education in South Carolina can submit pre-proposals to the SC EPSCoR/IDeA Office for up to $750,000 in total costs (direct + indirect) for a three-year project period. A 50% cost share is required. Pre-proposals are due by 5pm on December 1, 2011. Please note: the timeline for review and final proposal submission is subject to change once the federal solicitation is released.
